The Tánaiste and Minister for Defence, Mr. Simon Harris T.D. and the Defence Forces Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Seán Clancy, will attend the Commissioning Ceremony of the 100th Cadet Class & the 12th Potential Officers Class in the Defence Forces Training Centre (DFTC), The Curragh, Co. Kildare on Friday, 28th of March 2025, at 2.30pm.
The ceremony itself will take place on Pearse Square in the Military College of the DFTC. Signs will be placed along the road into the DFTC to direct invitees towards Pearse Square.
It is a very important and proud day for the members of the class and represents the successful completion of intensive military training.
The 100th Cadet Class, trained in the Military College in the Defence Forces Training Centre, began their training on 4th October 2023. Over the course of the last 17 months they have completed numerous military, tactical, physical and academic challenges and they are almost at the end of their journey as cadets.
The 12th Potential Officers Class, trained in the Military College in the Defence Forces Training Centre, began their training on 29th April 2024. Over the course of the last 11 months, the Non-Commissioned Officers built on their pre-existing experience with academic, tactical and military training to transition to the role of Commissioned Officers.
Members of the media are invited to attend and are kindly asked to arrive at 1:00pm. There will be excellent opportunities for photographs and interviews from the events taking place.
