Should members of the public encounter suspicious items, or hazardous substances, they are advised to maintain a safe distance and inform An Garda Síochána.</p

The Defence Forces Bomb Disposal Teams deal with other types of callouts that would include the destruction of a traditional munitions, such as old grenades found by members of the public, unstable chemicals and suspected devices that are found to be hoaxes.
