The Air Corps College

The Air Corps has operated out of Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel since April 1922. A growing requirement for highly trained aircraft technicians to maintain its expanding fleet brought about the opening of the Apprentice School in the air base and the commencement of the “boy apprenticeship scheme”.

The Technical Training School

The Air Corps has operated out of Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel since April 1922. A growing requirement for highly trained aircraft technicians to maintain its expanding fleet brought about the opening of the Apprentice School in the air base and the commencement of the “boy apprenticeship scheme”. Many of those “boys” who began their aviation careers in this way now hold executive positions in civil aviation as well as in the industry generally.

The Military Training and Survival School

Flying Training School

The Flying Training School (FTS) is the squadron within the Air Corps responsible for the training and education of all Air Corps cadets.

Technical Training School

The primary focus of the TTS is the Bachelor of Engineering Technology Degree in Military Aviation Technology which is available to leaving certificate students who wish to join the Air Corps

Military Training and Survival School

The MTSS is responsible for the military training of all new recruits and apprentices that are enlisted into the Air Corps as well as conducting any career courses that are sanctioned by Air Corps Headquarters.
