Arbour Hill 1916 Ceremony

The Annual 1916 Commemoration Ceremony takes place in May at the Church of the Most Sacred Heart Arbour Hill, Dublin. The ceremony is hosted by the Minister for Defence and consists of Requiem Mass, ceremonies as the Grave for the 1916 Leaders .

Defence Forces Participation

Defence Forces participation in the ceremonies consists of:

  • Captain's Escort of Honour from Áras an Uachtaráin to Arbour Hill
  • Chaplains for An tUachtarán, the Taoiseach and Lord Mayor of Dublin
  • Captains Guard of Honour
  • The Army No: 1 Band
  • Officer Guard of Honour, Colour party with escort, Trumpeters and Drummers to render musical honours
  • Cadet Guard of Honour
  • Army Band for parade and ceremonial at the Memorial
