Irish Troops Return Following a Six-Month Deployment to Lebanon
Over 200 Irish troops from the 120th Infantry Battalion, United Nations Interim Force Lebanon (UNIFIL) will return to Dublin Airport on Thursday 24th November, landing at approx. 2.00pm, following a six-month deployment to South Lebanon.
The personnel will be met by their families and friends. Drawn from many different Units across the Army and Air Corps, the majority of the 120th Infantry Battalions personnel are drawn from the 27th Infantry Battalion based in Aiken Barracks, Dundalk, Co Louth.
This will be the first homecoming that will be attended by families, and the media, since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.
There will be excellent photo and interview opportunities at Dublin Airport with the returning troops reuniting with their families.
